00:00 Chris who's the coach of the team, who's like pretty much the star of the show. You might want to hurry this story up. Totally insane and evil. That's how we're going to start the show tonight. Insane and evil. But it's Labor Day. Labor Day. Insane and evil. Absolutely. Hey, this is the Sportsports Pittsburgh. I didn't, I, that, that's not the way I usually say it, is it? Whatever. Welcome to the Sportsports Pittsburgh. Of course, of course. And you can grab us if you want. Don't grab me. Don't grab us. Whatever you do, do not, we don't want to be grabbed. I'm not even going to get out of the intro music. So, uh, we are live all over the world. We are live on Facebook. We are live on LinkedIn, on YouTube, on Twitter. And actually right now we are broadcasting live on a brand new radio station in Pittsburgh called Radio PGH. Hell yeah we are. Yeah, we're live. That's what I'm saying. Go to RadioPGH.com if you can't watch this or you think Steve's face is too ugly. You go to RadioPGH.com. My hair isn't looking very good. That was not necessary. It'd be a good time. I know it wasn't necessary. It was disrespectful. And of course you can always find us on the web at theporcheslive.com, theporcheslive.com. Theporcheslive.com. Go there now. All right guys, we are back. And better than ever. And listen, for those of you who I know are waiting for the next buckos report to come out because oh my God, it's so important to listen to. I have to apologize. It's been a really busy week. I have, you know, I had somebody move in the house. We got a good dog. Apology not accepted. Okay. That's cool with me. And you made a commitment to us and you have failed. I did. Miserably as usual. But the pirates are winning so we'll take it. That's exactly it.

01:53 Steve That's right.

01:54 Marc The curse has been lifted. The curse of Chris Klein.

01:57 Chris The curse of the pirate. So we will be seeing the buckos report come back. So thanks for sticking in there with me. Of course we have hockey Jesus here, Steve down at the bottom, as you can see the grand Schwabini right there. Yep. And we've got much more important things to talk about tonight. We had our fantasy draft last night. We did. Yep. Or yesterday. I'm sorry. Yesterday. Breaking news.

02:22 Steve I actually like your team. You like our team. I do. Interesting. I think it's a play. I think it's a playoff team. I really did. That's just what we do. I think you went too early for Dallas Goddard. It was a playoff team last year and it hurt your running back choices, but I think

02:38 Chris they're still adequate. I'm not really happy.

02:39 Steve I'm not happy with our running backs, to be honest with you. Well, that's cause you picked Dallas Goddard too early. That's where you needed to take your running back. Oh, well, but that's okay. You got a better tight end than most people. Doesn't matter. All right.

02:49 Chris If you're watching us on social media, drop your comments. We are going to move to what everybody wants to talk about right now. And that is NFL season predictions. Oh yeah. No, let's do it. You know, we got some things to say about the Stillers and the Eagles and Brock Purdy, hall of fame and all that kind of stuff. So let's just jump right the hell into it right now. Well, here's how we're going to do it. We're going to do each, each division. Who's going to win the division, right? East, North, South, West. Then we'll do our wild cards and then we'll go to the title game, the champ, the Superbowl, the winner. And, you know, if we're still not bored, we'll do something else. All right. Swar. Okay. The NFC, let's start with the NFC East. Let's do it. All right. This is a, even a shocker for me.

03:42 Steve I did take, I did. I took, I took Philadelphia. He learned his lesson from last year with the boys. It's unfortunate. I have, I have Washington at no chance at making any splash and I've got the giants, maybe, maybe they're there. They're maybe, maybe going to be there. Yeah. Swar. I've got the East. I've got the East. I've got the East. I've got the East. I've got the East.

04:06 Marc I've got the East. I've got the East.

04:08 Chris I've got the Eagles as well. Yeah. This is an easy one.

04:12 Steve It's the Eagles all the way. I just think they own the, I think they own that division. They do. They, I think they're going to have not as many wins as they're not going to have 14 wins like they did last year, but I still think they're good enough to win the division.

04:24 Marc By the way, I think it's one of the tougher divisions to win too. Interesting. Yeah. It's not an easy division. Nobody, you know, was it as a layover.

04:32 Steve Yeah. I mean, the commanders basically got better on defense and their offense is going to struggle again.

04:39 Chris That's to be expected with a rookie quarterback. Nobody is a layover. Don't, don't you mean a push over? Push over. Yeah. Okay. You want to push them over. Yes. They're laying so many avenues. Okay.

04:51 Steve NFC North. Who do you got Steve? NFC North. This is probably the worst by the way. I know Detroit's favored to win the NFC North, but I had to go with, uh, Still thinking about changing it. I am actually thinking of changing it, but I think I'm going to stick with my original

05:16 Chris pick which are the Vikings. I had the Vikings as well. I don't believe in the Lions. I'm sorry.

05:22 Marc And I do believe in the Lions. You didn't watch. They are the favorites.

05:28 Chris You didn't watch hard knocks two years ago. Yeah.

05:31 Marc Well, and what have they done since then other than maybe get a little better? They've won a lot more games than they won in previous seasons.

05:38 Chris Yes. There you go. Yes.

05:41 Steve Did they make the playoffs? They should have. Yeah. That's funny. I don't think so. They should have. Yeah.

05:48 Marc I mean, what do you think about Green Bay and Chicago up there? Nah. You don't think they have a chance? I think when you're counting on your quarterback to run for 170 yards a game, it's a problem. And I actually think Jordan Love will be good, but I just, it's going to take some time. I saw Jordan Love.

06:04 Chris Yeah. Both quarterbacks a little too young. I saw Jordan Love play. Last year that Rogers was out for one game and Love played. Yeah. And I honestly, I saw nothing that I liked.

06:14 Marc I saw nothing that I liked about that guy. Yeah. He came in against the Eagles when, you know, the Eagles had the game wrapped up and Rogers got a little nicked up and he threw like, I think he threw two touchdowns. Christian Watson.

06:26 Chris Yeah. Pretty good. Yeah. I think I saw, I saw that game too, but I just wasn't impressed. So, okay. We got the Vikings. You got Detroit, the South. And энергles.

06:37 Steve That were arguably the best division in football. Clearly. Clearly. No. It's the hardest to pick. Mm-hm. Then I, and I know everybody's like going towards the Falcons. I just don't believe in Desmond Ritter. Neither do I.

06:56 Marc I'm a Saints guy here. I'm going with the Saints. Me too. Saints.

07:02 Chris The favorite. I went with the Falcons just because I knew you guys were going to go with the Saints. And we have to have something to argue.

07:09 Steve Yeah. I don't blame you. Yeah.

07:12 Marc But I don't see how the Falcons can do it. Yeah.

07:14 Chris I mean, there's nothing wrong with being wrong. Yeah. You seem to remind me that. So once again, Tampa Bay's got no chance.

07:20 Steve Carolina. Yeah. Carolina's got to be improved. I mean, they actually got better once they got rid of their best running back, which was weird last year. Mm-hm. And. Yeah. Maybe. Yeah. You think? No. No, I don't think he was. But I think they thought he was the guy. And when he couldn't do it because their offensive line stunk, they didn't know what to do with the quarterback position. But they did go out and get a guy who is pretty good.

07:48 Marc CJ Stroud. Well, that remains to be seen, of course. No, I have to admit. Carolina is Bryce Young.

07:55 Chris Oh, Bryce Young. Sorry. Yeah, that's right. And we had that problem on an earlier show.

08:00 Steve Texans. Oh, Texans. Oh, so yeah. But he looked really good. I love the way that guy moves in the pocket. He looks very comfortable back there. More so than I think Pickett did in his rookie season. Yeah. At least a first pass.

08:13 Chris Yeah. So I definitely have the Falcons winning that just because I don't like the Saints. And what do you have against the Saints? I don't know. I don't like that song. The Saints Go Marching Home.

08:29 Steve The Saints Come Marching In, I believe.

08:31 Chris By the way, if you're watching this live, drop your comments. Tell us what you think, who you think is going to win. Okay, the West. I think this is kind of obvious. But go ahead, Steve.

08:42 Steve Who do you got winning the NFC West? I really like Seattle, but I'm not going to take it. Yeah, I felt the same way. I do like them. And I think the Rams are going to be better than everybody thinks. But you know, that injury to their number one wide receiver, that's going to hurt them. So I guess you got to go with Mr. Irrelevant winning the division.

09:02 Marc Yep. Yep. 40 whiners for me. 49ers.

09:06 Chris 49ers all the way. Cardinals have no chance. That's for Eagles fans. Yeah. Wild cards.

09:11 Steve Three wild cards. This is the hardest thing because I think people that are worthy are the Falcons. I think Dallas is worthy. I think the Rams are worthy. I think Seattle is worthy. Detroit's worthy. But I can only take three of them. So I'm going to go with Dallas for sure. Wild card. I'm going to go with San Francisco. No, not San Francisco.

09:40 Marc Seattle and I'm going to go with Detroit. CD says San Francisco after loss to the Steelers. I have the Giants, the Rams and the Cowboys.

09:52 Chris Yeah. I have the Cowboys, the Seahawks and the Rams. Although I just don't feel good about the Rams part of that. I don't know why. Maybe it's because Matt Stafford has trouble relating to the younger players.

10:05 Marc He does. He's a little pompous.

10:08 Chris Well, he's kind of like, you know, he's like the 37 year old guy in a room with like college graduates somewhat. So yeah, that is true. Doesn't understand the music. He's always asking them if they can fix his iPhone, you know, you know how this works That would have been a much better Hard Knocks. You think so? Yeah, that would have been hilarious. Okay. Now we're going to move on to the AFC. We'll save the championship for next. AFC East. AFC East.

10:35 Steve I have a lot of worthy candidates here. Miami, New York and the Bills. I think they're all worthy. But I'm taking the Bills.

10:47 Chris I've also got the Bills. So do I. I hate agreeing with you guys. It makes for a really boring show.

10:54 Steve Well, I mean, do you think New England has a chance? I don't think New England has a chance. I don't. I think it's unfortunate. I think Miami has a real chance at taking over the Bills. He's got to stay. Yeah, he's got to stay healthy. But that's the problem.

11:07 Chris And if he does, the running back situation still isn't great. The CD's and Aaron Rodgers love it. Aaron Rodgers loves it. He says the Jets are going to win. I don't even have Jets making a playhouse. Yeah. Look, you guys, we were talking about Hard Knocks. Maybe we'll talk about that after this second. Happy to do so. Yeah, we'll talk about that. I had the Bills, too. We all have the Bills. The North, we're going to love this. And this is where we're going to give Steve a whole load of shit. I want you sports porches to know something. But we'll talk about that after the… I can't wait. We'll talk about that after the pick.

11:45 Steve So AFC North, who do you got? Well, I don't have the Browns. I don't think they have a chance in hell. They're not going to even make the playoffs. So it really comes down to the Ravens and the Bengals, right? So you know who I'm taking. The Ravens. Yeah, right. Yep.

12:03 Marc Every time. What about Joe Cool?

12:05 Chris Yeah. Joe Cool will make the playoffs. You have a love affair with Joe Cool. You love him. I love him so much. I drafted him first. I know.

12:13 Marc I know. What a hypocrite. Can you believe this?

12:17 Chris You just get so excited for his big performances. How do you get off using that word hypocrite? Well, first of all, your partner is… Yeah, sorry, Richard. The Rat Birds. Yeah, let's put that up there. The Rat Birds. He means the Ravens, not the Ravens. Yeah, I know that. Thanks for being here, Richard. So first of all, your partner, your brother, is a doctor and he took the Hippocratic Oath. So in my world, that kind of makes him a hypocrite. You know? Well, he's not the one who said… Go ahead and say it.

12:51 Steve …who wished their starting quarterback would break his leg. That was me. Yeah, that was you and you drafted him. Yeah, because I hope he breaks his leg. Listen, DG, if you're…

13:00 Chris If somebody is going to be cursed, it should be our team. DG, if you're watching, I just want you to know that the world's biggest Stillers fan took Joe Burrow as his quarterback in his fantasy league. I mean, that would be like… Despicable. Right. Despicable.

13:17 Steve That'd be like taking Tom Brady at his height. Well, somebody was stupid enough to take Herbert in the third round. So there you go. I don't know who would be that dumb.

13:24 Chris Until he becomes Hall of Fame. Hall of Fame. And Mahomes went in the first round, which was equally stupid. All right, so you went with the Bengals. Or, I'm sorry, you went with the Ravens. No, I went with the Ravens. You went with the Ravens.

13:38 Marc Never going with the Bengals. Schwabber. Bengals.

13:41 Chris Bengals that orange tiger. There you go. All right. And I went with the Bengals. And I took the Bengals as well. Now the AFC South.

13:49 Steve Another tough division to pick. Nah, this is easy. Let's stand on two teams. Yeah, the Texans and the Colts have no shot. I heard Anthony Richardson is pretty good. I know everybody loves him. Everybody loves Anthony Richardson. He's the next shiny toy. He's really good at all things except football. Yeah, right. And the Titans are running a, you know, Derek Henry used to be the king. He's really not anymore. He's just getting to be. He's of that age now where he's no longer can be that stud running back.

14:19 Chris So you got to go with the new shiny team in the South called the Jacksonville Jaguars. That's what that's what he's saying. The Jags. Schwabber. I got the Jags. I know this is crazy. I have the Titans just so I can disagree with you guys and argue about it.

14:33 Steve Why do you like the Titans?

14:35 Chris Other than being a hypocrite. I like the Titans. I like the Titans because I, first of all, I like their coach and I think that this is the make it or break it year for them. This is it. You either advance a little further. There's going to be a regime change. I like Tana Hill as a game manager. I can't believe I'm saying that out loud and Deandre Hopkins. You know, he's not the Deandre Hopkins from three years ago, but when they lost AJ Brown to the Eagles, you know, and that to me was for them, huge mistake. I agree. And I thought it was a huge mistake when it happened. Yeah. Not even after the fact. And so they got a new shiny toy.

15:21 Steve We'll see what happens. Well, and Traylon Burks is there too. He's pretty good receiver. So I can see them giving the Jags some fits. I just think they're too talented.

15:30 Chris Well, and I also think that Mike Vrabel is the one coach in the NFL that, you know, he might actually show up suited up for a game. They might give him the ball, let him run it in from the three yard. Like he used to for the Patriots. All right. NFC West or AFC West is.

15:47 Steve Well, I think we all know where this one's going. It's crazy. Everybody's going to take the Raiders. Right? Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Taking the Raiders Raiders to end up in the basement. Maybe, you know, I really like the Chargers. I took them to win it last year. I think this could be the year they do it, but it's not going to happen. They're going to have to go through my homes. Yeah. Yeah. I think they end up, believe it or not, I think they end up with identical records, but I think Kansas City wins a tiebreaker. Too much Sky Moore. Yeah. Too much Kaderius Tony. Another.

16:19 Chris That's for you, CD.

16:22 Steve Another incredible pick by this world. So me and my brother have this side bet between Kaderius Tony and Sky Moore. And the reason we were laughing at the draft was because we drafted Sky Moore, which yeah, I remember that horrible pick. Yeah. Yeah. It was almost as bad as taking Herbert in the third round. I actually like our Quez walk in CA three bet more. Yeah. Quez walk ins CA three. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, no, this one's better because this one involves whiskey. Yeah. So if Kaderius Tony out receives Sky Moore, then I win the whiskey.

17:01 Chris Otherwise he wins the whiskey. Was it the whiskey you were drinking yesterday?

17:05 Steve Uh, no, no, no, no. It's, uh, well, we can't, you can't really get that whiskey in Pennsylvania. No. But where do you have to buy it? You have to, no, you have to go to Kentucky and you have to win like a, you have to like

17:17 Chris actually win a lottery to be able to buy it. What is your wife, Amy mean by this? I scrapbook with Sky Moore's aunt. All right.

17:26 Steve Nice. This is true. He's actually from the area. Amy, we're going to need some scoops on how he's doing down there. So, you know, yeah, you got my number scrapbooking scrapbooking. Let's do dinner, Amy. And let's talk about Sky Moore. All right.

17:39 Marc Why? You have to bring over some stuff to scrap. You got a scrapbook.

17:43 Steve Yeah. Oh yeah. I can scrapbook. He's got a lot of scrap laying around. You know what? I'll bring all my Taylor Swift stuff and we can scrapbook. Oh, my God. Scrapbook.

17:53 Chris Oh, man. Let's wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Do you have a Taylor Swift scrapbook? Well, I will.

17:59 Steve Once, once Amy and Sky Moore's aunt and I get together, I'm going to have a great scrapbook. Is there a, is there a plan for a Taylor Swift scrapbook already in the works for you? Amy said that would be perfect. So I'm there.

18:17 Chris Well, it's because she says they have scoops. She has scoops. And yeah, of course that would be perfect.

18:22 Steve Taylor Swift scrapbook.

18:23 Marc What would be better to have on my shelf? All your memories with your family. I already have that. I already have that.

18:33 Steve This family goes to the Taylor Swift concert. This is in addition to, this is an enhancement to my family.

18:42 Chris Okay. What were we doing? Oh, yeah. We were talking about scrapbooks. Right, right. No, we were talking about. No, we were talking about the Hellkings of City. What were the three wild cards coming out of the AFC? Wait, did we do them all?

18:52 Steve Yeah, I guess we did. Yeah. Yep. The three wild cards will be the Bengals, the Chargers and the Dolphins. Alrighty.

19:00 Chris I have the Ravens, the Chargers and the Jets. I have the Dolphins, the Jags and the Chargers because my man, Bobby Herbert, is going to lead us to the promised land. He's got the hair. Yeah. Love him. I am.

19:15 Steve I have a huge man crush on me. There's a Steeler fan for you.

19:18 Chris Listen, I did get that wrong. I said Bobby Herbert because I constantly refer to him as Bobby A. Bear. Bobby A. Bear. We know. Yeah, I know. Okay. Dolphins, Jags, Chargers. Let's go to the NFC title game.

19:37 Steve Who's going to be in the NFC title game, Steve? NFC title game? Yeah. This is an easy one. San Francisco 49ers versus the Dallas Cowboys.

19:47 Chris Oh, another year. Yeah. Does it again.

19:52 Marc And the Cowboys again. Yeah, I love it. And again, he'll come up to me at some point and say I was wrong about the boys. Yeah, right. All right, Schwabber title game. I have a rematch.

20:04 Chris I know it's not that easy to happen, but Eagles 49ers. CD says Eagles Cowboys. I want to address this comment coming to me, Richard. What record do you think the Steelers will have? Well, we did that last week, Richard, but we're glad you're here anyway. Oh, yeah. And we can rehash it. We'll rehash it right after this. So stick around. You have the Eagles Winers, right? Or Niners?

20:27 Marc I'm sorry.

20:28 Chris Yeah, he has 40 Winers. All of them. And I have the Eagles and the Vikings. Oh, the Vikings.

20:35 Steve Nice. I like it.

20:37 Marc An absurd selection. Absolutely. By the way, you still will never give up on Kirk. I can't. I can't.

20:47 Chris All right. All right. A FC Championship game.

20:52 Steve A FC Championship games will feature the Buffalo Bills. They will be playing against the L.A. Chargers. No way.

21:02 Chris Oh, boy. Yeah, that's a weird one. Finally, something different. Something different.

21:08 Steve All right, Swabber. I got Bengals versus Bills. Bengals. Come on. Bengals, Bills, Joe Cool. Your guy. It's your guy. Joe Burrow. Once the playoffs hit, he's back to being an old Joe dumbass.

21:22 Chris Is that dumbass or dumbass or something else going to come out there? I know where you were going. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, you should have. No cigar for Joe this year. I got the Bengals. I got the Bengals and the Chiefs, just like CD.

21:38 Steve I got I got the Bengals and the Chiefs. You really think the Chiefs can make it again that far?

21:42 Chris I think I think they're due for a letdown. I watched quarterback on Netflix. I agree. I love it. Mahone is clearly a competitor. I think the reason that Kirk Cousins will never win a Super Bowl, I think he can make the championship game, is because he over thinks things like it is insane. The amount of overthinking he does. If he would just take a step back and relax, he would probably win a Super Bowl because he's got the mentality for it. He's got the he's he's got it.

22:18 Steve He gets a shit beat out of it. I know what you're saying, but he actually plans his relaxation. That's how much that's too much.

22:26 Chris Right. Not good. Right. And Patrick Mahomes is younger and he's got a different personality. And we don't have to talk about his skills. I think you already know what they are. And I think Patrick Mahomes is on a mission now to win more Super Bowls. And I mean a real mission to win more Super Bowls than Tom Brady. You know, like every, every quarterback in the NFL, every boy that wants to be that ends up, they all dream about winning the Super Bowl and they dream about winning one. And then after they've won one, they all say, you know, now I want to win the next one. And very few do. Patrick Mahomes, I think he's he already envisioned winning multiples. And I think his goal is to get to eight. Now, do I think he's going to get there? Probably not. But he's still young and he's he's much better mentally than Kirk Cousins, who I think Kirk Cousins would make a great NFL head coach. That's where I think he's headed at some point in his career. Maybe you heard it here first.

23:30 Steve But I think I coach the commanders. The thing about the thing about Mahomes in that quarterback series that I learned was the guy is such an athlete. He thinks he thinks about how to protect his body, how to get out there and prepare for every week. It's insane. And he's totally focused on the week, which I think is pretty amazing. Yep. And I think that's I think that's that's like his secret sauce for him, because Cousins thinks too much about the future. He's not singularly focused on the week. Yeah.

24:05 Chris Cousins' goal is to win one. He just wants to win one. I just want to win one. And how can I tweak, you know, my my centric nerves and my chakras and then align them with my you know, with my body and my twisting and my and then the plays should have gone that way, should have gone this way, should have gone too much.

24:22 Steve Your goal, well, I think should be to be one and oh, that's right. Yeah, exactly. Every week that you got it. I think Mahomes is kryptonite. Honestly, is Joe who you like to call Joe Cool?

24:33 Chris Yeah, I think he's totally favorite player this year. He's your favorite player during the regular season. Yeah, no. Yeah, I think so.

24:41 Marc By the way, by the way, by the way, fellas, I don't need to watch a TV show to figure out the Patrick Holmes is great.

24:47 Chris Yeah, well, no, but you have to watch it to figure out how he becomes great. I did. I did. He saying Cousins is using that Michigan State. Like a true Penn State. I do.

25:00 Marc Keep your blue and your white yourself. I actually do have a question for you. Do they delve at all into his career in college at Texas Tech? Because I always kind of wonder about that. Like, why was he like really nothing that special in college and, you know, just became this juggernaut in the NFL? Well, you know, I mean, it was the first round pick. I get it. He didn't have his secret sauce. Like, you know, he didn't win a lot in college. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. That'd be an interesting special.

25:31 Chris Yeah, maybe. I don't know. I don't know. But we got another question here that people want to talk Steelers guys. Robert Whitney, you think they solidified the C.B. Room with the King signing? Don't answer that. Let's just we're going to we're going to get to all the stuff in a second. Hold off. OK, so get into the Super Bowl here. Robert's bangles chiefs. I had bangles chiefs. You had bills, chargers. You had bangles, bill bangles, bills. OK, who goes to the Super Bowl, guys?

25:56 Steve Well, I think it is going to be the Buffalo Bills. I think they're going to make it this year. And I think they are going to play against guess who? Goodness. No, it's not the Dallas Cowboys this year, boys. San Francisco and Brock Purdy. Oh, the whiners.

26:13 Chris The wall of fame. So you think Brock Purdy is going to lead the 49ers to the show? No, I think their head coach is. Yeah. But I mean, you think Brock Purdy is going to lead

26:24 Steve the 49ers. No, I think I think it's all about the head coach. I say again, I think he's one of the best coaches in the league. He's really good at losing Super Bowl. Yeah. Well, as long as as long as he doesn't have to play Philadelphia,

26:37 Chris which I don't have them playing for all the playoffs, it'll be fine. So you think you think that the Niners are going to get their revenge, but not by beating Philly directly. They're going to be beating the Cowboys. That's right. Philly's going to feel he's going to, you know,

26:52 Steve they're not going to make it. Yeah. Philly's going to end up losing the Dallas. OK.

26:57 Chris Man, I'd hate to be in Philadelphia. I know. Sorry about that. He burning down the center city is gone.

27:05 Marc All right, Schwab, or who do you have in the Super Bowl? I have the Eagles versus the Bengals. And I say, forget about what the stats say. For the second time in 10 years, the loser of Super Bowl will win the Super Bowl the next year.

27:22 Steve There you go. I didn't pick my winner. Oh, go ahead.

27:27 Chris Well, pick your winner. Yeah, go ahead. Buffalo. There you go. OK.

27:31 Steve Yeah, I got it out. I don't think Purdy's good enough to win a Super Bowl. OK, but I think he's good enough to get there.

27:37 Chris So he's a game manager, but not a winner. Yeah. There you go. All of fame. All right. I have the Eagles and the Bengals and I have the Eagles winning it. As much as it pains me to say that I think the Eagles are going to win the Super Bowl, CD has the Eagles versus the Bengals to. Yeah. What is wrong with you people? We're both named Chris. That's what's wrong with us. He knows that.

28:00 Steve Well, let me tell you some facts. Please do give us. Tell us what you're lacking that here.

28:05 Marc Tell us what Madden simulation there was a there was.

28:09 Steve Yeah, there was. There was a gentleman on YouTube. If you want to check it out, it's called Gentleman CK Birds. I believe he's an Eagles fan.

28:18 Chris He is. Yes. Maybe it's maybe it's my alter ego. Maybe CK Bird could be you.

28:23 Steve It could have been you. And that would that would be you because you would play Madden 32 times times all the games in the in the league just to do this. Yeah, I probably would have. You would. But so in the matchups in the Super Bowl, actually, the teams that made the Super Bowl, Dallas made the Super Bowl 13 times.

28:43 Marc Now, that actually makes sense. Because because simulations are actually based on things like talent, but they're not based on like, you know, poor head coaching. Right. It's always got to go back and like and like a quarterback with like, you know, a mental problem, throws picks and crucial moments. Right. You know what I mean? Right. Oh, he's got to cut down Dallas. Oh, he's got to cut down.

29:09 Steve I don't blame you. I cut down to Bengals all the time. So I'm right there with you. And then you draft their quarterback. The second team in the NFC that had the most Super Bowl appearance were the Philadelphia Eagles at six, San Francisco for Atlanta made the Super Bowl three times. Wow. There's no way the Giants made the Super Bowl twice. Wow. Carolina made the Super Bowl twice. Crazy. Minnesota made the Super Bowl once. OK, well, at least, you know, and Green Bay made the Super Bowl once. All right. Did the commanders make it? They did not make the Super Bowl. Not one.

29:41 Chris That means maybe I need Jordan Love.

29:43 Steve Maybe I need to change my pick. And in the AFC, Buffalo was the number one team.

29:49 Marc Ten went ten Super Bowl appearances. See, that makes sense to with the talent. Yeah. Right. But not the mental.

29:55 Steve Yeah. And AFC Cincinnati, eight. Kansas City only made the Super Bowl five times. Yeah. The Chargers made it four. Baltimore made it three. Denver made it one. Well, Russell Wilson and your Pittsburgh Steelers made it. Yeah. One Super Bowl, one Super Bowl in that game. Guess what? Did they win it? They lost. They lost to the Cowboys on a last second. Oh, no, it's true. It was like a long touchdown pass. The Brandon Cooks to win the game. No, actually, it was the one that had the most highlights, because, you know, when they do the simulations, they sometimes just gloss through it. But Dallas played Buffalo six times. Wow. Of the 32 times, six of them were Dallas versus Buffalo. And there were only five other games that played twice. Dallas, Kansas City, Philadelphia, Buffalo, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Dallas, Baltimore and San Francisco, Cincinnati.

30:51 Chris So going back to this Buffalo pick of yours. Yes. OK. So we're all familiar with the late 80s, early 90s, you know, for Super Bowl, you know, losses. Right. Losses. Right. Is this the third or fourth year that Buffalo has been picked by a lot of, you know, NFL sports writers to go to the Super Bowl?

31:19 Steve It's the third. It's the third.

31:21 Chris Yeah. So basically, what's happening is they're taking it. They're actually going downhill because for a while it was like, they're going to make the Super Bowl every year.

31:30 Steve Now it's like, well, remember, they made the Super Bowl. The year before that was the first time they made the playoffs in like 20 some years. Right. Right. Frank Reich was a backup. Right. And I think that's what's going to happen with the Bengals. I think the Bengals, I think they peaked last year, to be honest with you. That's why I don't have them in the championship game, because I think they peaked last year and they're starting to come back down. Yeah. That's spoken like a true AFC North. Hey, the only other thing with that simulation, they also showed all the playoff teams, the Steelers made the playoff nine times out of the 32 simulations and 32 seasons, that for only four of the nine times they were in the playoffs, did they win a game? And like I said, they only made it to one Super Bowl and they actually had them winning the division once. The Steelers. But in the year they won the division, they lost their first playoff game.

32:24 Marc OK, well, you know, I. That means what they were like a 37% chance of winning a play of making the playoffs, right?

32:34 Chris No, less than that. It's like 27, 27%, somewhere around there. All right. So we're getting in the weeds here. Let's say answer some questions. Which I think is about right. Richard wanted to know what what record we think the Steelers will have. That was last week's show. I actually happen to have that right here in front of me. Oh, yeah, I remember. We won't go down the whole list. But basically, Mark has them at nine and eight. Steve has them at 10 and seven. I have them at nine and eight. Some of the highlights here is I think I have them beating the Ravens twice. Yep. Last game of the season. Let's see, Steve, you have them rattling off four wins in a row between Arizona and the Bengals. Right. And I think you do. Do you have them beating the Bengals twice? No, you know, splitting, splitting, splitting with the bang. Right. Beating the Browns. Right. Right. Schwabers kind of all over the map. He does give them a three game win streak between Arizona, the Pats and Indy, although he does have them. And he has them losing to the Bengals twice. I have them losing to the I think I have them splitting with the Bengals. Yeah, I have them splitting with the Bengals. But nine and eight, two, nine and eight and one, 10 and seven. I call that even. I mean, you know, I and as far as making the playoffs, I just think it's going to be tough. You know, you got if Lamar Jackson stays healthy, he's got something to prove. Obviously, you got Joe Burrow. The Cleveland Browns are a dumpster fire. I don't care what anybody says about the Sean Watson. I mean, he's a he's a complete jag anyway. But look, the guy didn't play football basically most of last year. He was mired in legal battles. I see a career to me that's over. I mean, it's just over. And maybe he shows some, you know, some signs, but forget it. But I just don't think the Steelers make the playoffs this year. I don't think that's going to happen.

34:39 Steve No, I think they're going to be improved. Yeah. From last year. But unfortunately, I just think that that the division they're in minus the Browns, I think the Ravens and the Bengals right now are playing some of the best ball in the AOC. And I know we play the Ravens tough, which is why I have them splitting with them. But and the same with the Bengals, but that could go south pretty easily. You know? Yes. Yeah. And I don't know. I just don't I just don't like the way this team is playing right now. But I think next year I'll have a different viewpoint

35:14 Chris because I think they're going to be together for three years at that. Yeah, that that's that. Well, and that's the reason that you look at the Bengals and the Ravens. I mean, they basically been together.

35:22 Steve I mean, you've got you've got you're putting the pieces together now. They've had much higher draft picks, too. So I think their talent level is just higher for that reason. Right. You know, the last time the Steelers had a top five pick ever. The last time was a long time ago. You know, Mark, I don't know. 1970, Gary Bradshaw. Yeah, top five pick. Yeah, that was the last time. So, I mean, it's just about talent level. Unfortunately, the Steelers do a good job of getting what is out of their players, but they just don't have a lot of a lot of talent, although how many number one picks they have on defense, but they got him through attrition. You know, he had the trade for him.

36:01 Chris So what about what about what about signing King as a cornerback?

36:06 Steve I mean, it adds it adds more depth. And that's really that's all you need. I mean, that James Pierre, much better than him. So, yeah, anytime your weak link is a little less weak, he's still not great, but he's better than James Pierre. So why not go and do that?

36:24 Chris Yeah, I agree. And and and coming out in the first game, this is my concern in the first game against the 49ers is that, you know, even though it doesn't look like Bose is going to be playing,

36:40 Steve unless you guys heard something here. No, I didn't hear anything. He hasn't signed yet. Well, I mean, he's not been practicing.

36:47 Marc There's no like 50 50.

36:48 Chris Yeah, there's no way. There's no way. And even if he does, he's not going to be in game shape.

36:53 Marc I don't care. I actually actually really like this game for the Steelers. I think I was the only one who predicted that they're going to win it. Yeah. And I think it's you know, there's there's a couple factors that play in their favor. One is where you were the only one. Yeah. One is if Joey Bosa doesn't play, which seems more likely than not.

37:12 Steve OK, so they should start Broderick Jones. You know, yeah, right. That's number one. Oh, by the way, Broderick Jones was starting in the Super Bowl.

37:20 Marc Yeah. And number two, it's Madden NFL. And number two is genius. And number two is I got you, buddy. You've got a healthy TJ Watt. And we all saw what happened to Brock Purdy against a healthy Hassan Reddick, right? Yeah. Which basically means if you know, and the Steelers will get people in his face. Oh, yeah. And probably first game back, people in your face. Yeah, a little nervous. Yeah, I like I like the Steelers in this one to kind of if you want to call it, steal one, because I guess they're underdogs. But I think they're going to steal one with a surprise in the first in the first week. They could. They really could. I think they really will.

38:03 Steve Yeah. I mean, if you look at the 49ers, 49ers schedule, this is one where you're like, oh, man, that's a tough that's a tough opening act for for the 49ers. Yeah, because they're coming here. Yeah. Plus, yeah. On the road, the Steelers haven't played an opening game at home since 2014. Yeah, it's too long. Yeah.

38:23 Marc How late? Yeah. And that's the way it works. And plus, you know, I know you like the coach, Steve, but one thing that's that's my biggest concern. One thing with that coach, though, is they're very rarely ready for the start of the season. They always come out. They stumble. They stumble out of the gates and then they get caught midseason.

38:41 Steve Well, it's usually because they don't they didn't have a quarterback that was prepared and ready. I think I think Purdy this time, even though he wasn't 100 percent, he was there the whole time. And I think that helps. Like Garoppolo was that that way last year. They didn't know who was going to be in there. They thought maybe they were going to start their rookie, who turns out to be a bust. And they ended up trading him for like a third round pick. Right. And I think I just think they've they're they're more secure this year than they ever have been. They got a great running back. I mean, the way Steelers can win that game is by stopping CMC. If they can stop CMC and San Francisco becomes one dimensional. I agree with you. I think the Steelers have a great.

39:23 Marc I think they I also think with the 49ers, I I also think that's a team that thinks they're better than they actually are. Not that they're not a good team, like the Padres in baseball. That's exactly what you're talking about. Exactly. Like, for example, like when you lose, you know, in the championship game and like all you can say, like the entire offseason is, you know, we were the better team. Our quarterback just got hurt. Like nobody takes accountability that you weren't good enough to win the game. Well, they actually just think that they're that good.

39:57 Steve Believe it or not. I think that's a bad thing. Believe it or not. That's probably actually true. Not to say they would have beaten Philadelphia with a good quarterback, because I don't think they would have. But they would have been they would have been more competitive.

40:09 Marc Yeah, it would have been a closer game.

40:10 Steve And then they would have been saying, all we have to do is work a little bit harder. And then now we'll be in the Super Bowl. Well, the Steelers are just saying we need to be better to just make the playoffs. That's two teams in two totally error areas. You know, San Francisco is up here and Pittsburgh is down here somewhere in their evolution of their team.

40:31 Marc That's all. Well, but I think the 49ers, they think that they are better than they are.

40:36 Steve Well, they were in the championship game last year. They were one of the best four teams in the league. You have to admit that.

40:43 Chris Did they stumble into it? He doesn't want to. He just they were they were 13 and four. They only had one less loss than the Eagles last year. You're talking about an Eagles fan here who is who is deathly afraid of the fact that they might actually make it back. And if there is, you know, you know, a rematch that that is your greatest fear. No, it's not actually. You can admit it.

41:07 Marc No, not at all. Actually, I would love the play. We already know. Again, I feel like that would be a win.

41:12 Steve Yeah. Yeah. You'd actually like to play per the whole time home or away. All right. Sorry, you have to play against Dallas.

41:18 Marc The one I will say this, the one I the one I would least like to play actually would be Dallas, not because I think that they would win. No, but it's because it would be just horrifying if they lost.

41:31 Steve Yeah, they play you enough. They know they know your strengths. Right. They they would know what it would take. Yeah. Whether they could actually do it or not would be a different story.

41:39 Marc Right. Yeah. But you know, even like last year, we went one on one against them, you know, just because it's division.

41:45 Chris So everything comes down to the end. Yeah. The Redskins or the commanders beat you last year. Yeah. Yeah. And they were eight, eight and one. Yeah. Right. Yeah. Which which was surprising. Yeah.

41:55 Marc Which was a year for them. Yeah. Well, anybody will there be another tie this year? There's always a tie. Oh, you mean, you know, yeah, I think general. Yeah, I think there were two last year. If you think about it with with the 10 minute overtime instead of 15,

42:10 Steve you're going to have ties. Very possible. Yeah. Yeah. I agree. They'll definitely be a tie. I think the Texans will have a tie. They had one last year. A zero zero tie in the first week, wasn't it? Yeah, I first I also foresee a Cleveland tie. That's a possibility. Cleveland ties the Steelers three to three, eight and one for the Steelers. Is that where you're going? Three to three. Got to preserve that 500 record. You guys, you guys.

42:37 Chris All right. So I got the Eagles win in it. You got the Eagles win in it. Since when? Look, in the 35 years I've known you. I don't think there's ever been a time where either one of us have, A, agreed on a Super Bowl winner, let alone both pick the Eagles.

42:54 Marc And that makes me feel good because for that to be the case, they must be pretty darn good. Yeah.

43:01 Chris I thought you were going somewhere else with that, but that's all right. I'll take that. I'll take that. So so.

43:09 Steve You know, did any of us we didn't need. None of us picked the Super Bowl winners the last two years, right? I don't think so. I think we took the Bills two years ago.

43:18 Marc Last year, I know I took the Chargers one. Last year, I was very close with the Indianapolis Colts.

43:24 Chris You were. Oh, yeah. That's right. I remember that was one of the best picks ever. Yeah. Where in the hell did that come from? That's what I want.

43:33 Steve It was a cult went for 12 and one last year, by the way.

43:35 Marc Yeah. Well, it was a belief that they were like, you know, I think, weren't they like 11 and six the year before with and Carson Wentz of like Carson down at the end. Yeah, I think so. With the guy who's not Ryan. Yeah, they're not Ryan. I thought, hey, maybe this is the Matt Ryan year. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. It was actually it was not an outlandish pick at the time. A lot of people are actually it was like kind of like a cool pick. Yeah, you can justify it all you want.

44:04 Chris But it just didn't it didn't go well. Yeah, I think it was the worst one of the worst ever.

44:08 Marc When even more downhill when Jeff Saturday took over. Yeah, it didn't. Yeah, I know. Everybody was so high on that. OK, I want to get to this. I want to get to this.

44:17 Chris We were talking that we were talking before the show about Hard Knocks. And we were talking about the coaches and you were talking about the previous year with the Lions and watching Dan Campbell coach versus Robert Sala. And, you know, you guys are talking about him, about how he kind of walks around and he's kind of like, hey, can you can you really can you believe that Aaron Rogers is this guy's our quarterback kind of thing and blah, blah, blah, blah. Didn't I tell you guys before all of this shit happened that. The Jets are where quarterbacks go to die. They are not going to I don't care what anybody says. They are cursed. They are not. Aaron Rogers career is done. He is not going to have a good year. He was throwing he was throwing a good ball. It's like, yes, they throw good balls in practice in the preseason game.

45:10 Marc I don't even touch them past the Garrett Wilson, of course. Of course, of course, he is going to be this is going to be just another one of those. Jet seasons, I'm just telling you, I'm just I'm telling you, I'm saying. You know, get enough out of that team. Look, he's got offensive weapons. I mean, he's got Bruce Hall and he's got Dalvin Cook running the ball. Yeah, he's got Garrett Wilson and I think another receiver that's pretty good, too. Just drawn a blank. Well, I mean, Cobb followed Randall Cobb, followed him. Well, and so does our right. Right. You know, he's got he's got some guys to throw the ball to. And, you know, the defense has been pretty good, you know, the last couple of years. So you got to get the sauce. You get that Quentin Williams, Quentin Williams, right? You know, who's a beast. I mean, honestly, I look, look at how they did last year with that, you know, garbage quarterback they had. I mean, they they were almost 500. Zach Wilson. Luke's an actor. Were they like, were they like, you know, were they like seven and ten or eight and nine with, you know, that guy? Yeah, I mean, they beat the Steelers. The Jets were seven and ten last year. Seven and ten. You put Aaron Rodgers in for what's his name again? Zach Wilson. For Zach Wilson. For Zach Wilson, you know, you don't think that could swing it a couple of games?

46:43 Chris I you know what? If if they didn't wear green, I had the work Jets on their helmet. I would be all in on that.

46:49 Marc Well, the worst part of the whole Jets, you know, is like the double Jets thing. Yeah, it's kind of like and it's it's like hard to look at.

46:57 Chris Yeah. And it gives you a little migraine. Yeah. I didn't know there was such things as a little migraine.

47:03 Marc Yeah, a little like, well, like not not so bad that like, you know, you need to stay out of bright light, but enough that you need to take an exedrin.

47:09 Steve You have to. No, what? Take it, Cedron. Do you take it? Cedron? I don't even know what that is. That's like an old person's ass.

47:18 Marc Yeah, I haven't taken I haven't taken them in years. Is that like a bear? We have a bunch upstairs. But I used to get migraines. I don't anymore, but I used to.

47:26 Chris And exedrin was like the only thing that knocked them right out. Yeah, knocked them right out.

47:30 Steve Doesn't everybody just take like Advil now? Pretty much.

47:33 Chris I try to stay away from that because it kind of messes with my eating habits. If I can say that, you know, interesting. Or my after eating habits. Mm hmm. Yeah, I got you. Some digestion issues. Yeah. Yeah. But sometimes it's the only thing that works. Yeah. Yeah. Like I've got this shoulder issue going on right now that's driving me nuts, which is why I'm sitting this.

47:56 Steve Just take them naproxen. They're the best. Yeah, naproxen. Yeah, it's like five Advil. Ah, yeah, that's good for you, Tim. Oh, yeah. You only need to take one that way. Yeah, you can always. You're only supposed to take two in a day. But, you know, people have been known to abuse their drugs.

48:12 Chris But don't take anything we say here as gospel. Yeah, we're not doctors. We have no idea what we're talking about. On treating your own pain.

48:19 Marc You know, any medication you take should be consulted by your physician. Your physician.

48:25 Chris Please consult your physician. You should probably consult your therapist before you listen to or watch our show.

48:30 Marc And if you have an emergency, dial 911. Yes, yes.

48:33 Chris Yeah. Hey, look, guys, it is Labor Day. It is Labor Day. Labor Day. I didn't even cook out.

48:39 Steve I feel like I should have been coming from a picnic or something.

48:41 Chris You should have been. Let me tell you, there's been a picnic around here for a while.

48:44 Steve I did come from a picnic. I love barbecue. Hot dogs, hamburgers. Hot diggity dogs.

48:50 Marc Some some baked beans, maybe. I did have some baked beans. I didn't want to disappoint you guys. Coleslaw. Coleslaw.

48:59 Steve No coleslaw, but corn on the cob. Oh, corn on the cob. And an ice cold iced tea.

49:05 Marc There you go. I did have an ice cold iced tea. That's what you got to have.

49:08 Steve It's your raspberry iced tea. Oh, raspberry.

49:11 Marc I love raspberry iced tea. Yeah. Yeah. You betcha. And a chicken kebab. What?

49:19 Chris What is going on? Got to throw the chicken kebab. No kielbasa though. No kielbasa. Why? Well, if I'm Pittsburgh barbecue. If I was my mother-in-law. Where's Skye Moore where you met?

49:30 Marc It was my mother-in-law's. Yeah. But so she looks she made what she wanted to make. She not Polish? I think I think there's some Polish in her. Yeah. What's wrong with her? Yeah. No kielbasa. Don't say what's wrong with her. I don't mean. She made a nice meal.

49:42 Steve There you go. Thank you, Aunt May. Yeah.

49:47 Chris I don't even remember what I ate today. I think I ate some pork from our draft yesterday. Oh, yeah. Was the pork good? Oh, yeah. Yeah. You guys just say that. No, no, no. Seriously. It really is good. It really is good. All right. Good. It's top notch.

50:01 Steve I don't make it my way. That buffalo chicken dip was really good. It was. That was a little spice. It was. I liked it. I liked it a little.

50:07 Chris I felt it. It had a little ram. It had a little kick. Yeah, it had a little kick to it.

50:12 Steve Yeah. A little kick. Maybe a quarter cup too much of the red hot.

50:16 Chris Yeah. Yeah. Which I never thought you could ever have. No. Too much red hot. And now you know. Yeah.

50:22 Steve But of course, you didn't measure anything. You just. I didn't make it.

50:25 Chris It was the Kamesh. He made it.

50:27 Marc How about the guy who said who made that awesome tortellini salad? Yeah. Did you raise your hand? No, no. Did you say I made it? No, no. He sent out an email. He wanted to know the recipe for the tortellini salad. And I said that came from Giant Eagle Marketplace. Giant Eagle Marketplace.

50:44 Steve I know. Mark shows up with.

50:46 Chris Consult your Giant Eagle. He shows up with this little thing of tortellini salad.

50:50 Marc Turned out to be the perfect amount. Yeah. He thinks, yeah, well, for you. Well, me and a couple of folks would really get into it. Yeah, I mean, I missed out on a tortellini. It had pepperoni and salami. Oh, yeah.

51:03 Chris That's a good one. I am always tied to that avocado bread or not avocado. Spinach artichoke. Oh, yeah. Red bull. That's good, man. And he always sits it right in front of us. Oh, yeah. Right there. He does.

51:17 Steve I just. I think between you and Mark, it was gone.

51:20 Marc I destroy it. Yeah.

51:22 Chris It's hard to lay off. Yep. And then I have to go to the pork sandwich. And then I go to the dip, you know, and then I'm back to the bread bowl. Oh, yeah. Yeah. And then by then, we've picked Bob Justin Herbert in the. I was going to say, Justin Herbert in the third round. Third round.

51:41 Steve Yeah. Justin A-Bear. Yeah. Just goddard in the fourth. I don't know. Yeah. Yeah. That's no wonder. You said you like our team.

51:48 Chris Yeah, but you missed out on some great running backs in that. We did. That's the one place that I'm really not happy about. Well, I can't say I'm not happy about it. So one place that I'm concerned is our running back situation. But that's you know what? That's another show.

52:03 Marc To be honest, one of the things and Steve's team

52:06 Steve used to have this philosophy of running backs don't even matter. Well, we still do. We didn't pick our first one till the fifth round.

52:13 Marc Yeah, because you basically pick a running back

52:16 Steve that like emerges during the year. Normally, because we start 0 and 3.

52:21 Marc So we usually get the first pick and there you go. But to be honest, the fact that you play three receivers, like if you don't use the split for the running back, you play three receivers. It's called a flex. A flex, right? Whatever. You play three receivers and a tight end. So it's basically four receivers and then a running back, one running back. I'd rather have Dallas Goddard who's going to be better than all but four maybe tight ends in the whole league. Two I would go with. Yeah, so I would rather have that because you're winning that. Now Travis Etienne who we ended up picking or waiting three weeks for Alvin Kamara, the bottom line is like. An aging Alvin Kamara. Yeah, I mean look, like what? Like I mean Travis Etienne can probably hold his own with half the running backs in the league. But most of the tight ends aren't going to put up

53:19 Chris Dallas Goddard points. Yeah, I'm with you. I'm not saying that I'm down. And for those of you who haven't figured it out, Mark and I, we've managed the team together in this league. But I'm not totally down on it. I'm just saying if there is a spot on our roster, it's kind of like, you know.

53:35 Steve Everybody has that spot. Yeah, sure. And you just have to know what spot to choose. That's right. Everybody's got that spot.

53:42 Chris Everybody's got a spot. That's it for me, man. I can't do this anymore.

53:47 Marc It's that spot.

53:48 Steve Time to say so long. Don't forget Steelers this Sunday, baby.

53:54 Chris I know. Listen, man. It's Labor Day.

53:55 Marc Next time we catch you, we'll be coming with a Steelers
