Should the Pittsburgh Steelers Fire Matt Canada?

Hailing from the storied town of York, PA, Chris had a very confusing childhood. His father was a Washington Redskins, Philadelphia 76ers and Phillies fan, his mother, from Baltimore, was a Yankees fan, and his friends were either Steelers, Orioles, Colts or Eagles fans. So... when he got to college and met Steve from Pittsburgh and Marc from Philadelphia, they had no idea what to do with him. And yes... I was at the famous "Body Bag" Monday Night Football game in Philadelphia, where Buddy Ryan's Eagles sent at least 2 Washington Redskins players out on a stretcher... and yes... I left the game and left Schwalbber there without a ride back. But it wasn't my idea. I swear.

I was born and raised in Western PA and have deep roots in Pittsburgh sports. I bleed black and gold.
I am the only Porch Host to have played football in high school. I remember attending college football
games while still in high school at old Pitt Stadium and a basketball games in the Fitzgerald Fieldhouse. I
went to my first Penguin game in the early 1980’s to see a young Mario Lemieux play and stuck with
them through the lean late 1990’s and early 2000’s. I can tell you exactly where I was when the Penguins
won the lottery to draft Sidney Crosby. I have attended the original Winter Classic in Buffalo, the Stanley
Cup Final in 2009, but I have never seen the cup raised live. Growing up in the 70’s I barely remember
many details of the Steelers games except Super Bowl XIV. I do remember all the players and knew of
their greatness. I attended Superbowl XL to see the Steelers win their 5 th Superbowl. I loved the Pirates
of the 1980’s with their pinstripe design and Willie Stargell stars on their hats. However, since my
trauma of the Sid Bream incident, I have never seen the Pirates do anything of true value. As Chris and
Marc can attest, I left a part of my soul on that stool at Cavanaugh’s that night. I long for the day of real
ownership that wants to Make the Pirates Great Again.

I am Marc, sometimes known as Schwalbber, born in the city of brotherly love and forever a diehard 4 for 4 fan (for those of you who do not know - that means Eagles, Phillies, Sixers and Flyers). Going to Drexel University for my college years I embraced diversity, meeting my soon to become best of friends. There I discovered Steve, a Yinzer, if you will, that believed that NFL Football started in the 70’s with the Steel Curtain, refusing to believe that they were awful for the first 40 years of their franchise. At that time, he was a hopeful Penguins fan (at that point they hadn’t won anything) and a Buccos fan still reeling at Barry Bonds inability to throw out Sid Bream in the playoffs (but he's the greatest of all time, right?). He also discovered Chris, a Redskins and Orioles fan. The quiet bird never bothered me but the wars between the Eagles and Skins were epic. It can all be summed up by Chris being at the body bag game to Marc’s delight and then Chris’ childish behavior took over seeking some sort of revenge, leaving Marc at the game without a ride back, being the sore loser that he was. But, believe it or not, we all get along well and have been best of friends for 35 years.
